How to Source Wholesale Rings and Plan Your Size Mix
A ring collection requires two buying decisions at once: which designs to carry and how much stock to place behind each size. A clear size plan makes supplier conversations more useful and helps customers choose confidently. Start with a focused design shortlist and verify the measurements before building a broad range.

Confirm the sizing system
Ask which sizing system the supplier uses and request the corresponding internal measurements where available. A size number on its own is ambiguous across markets. Keep one consistent sizing system in your own store and explain how customers should measure before ordering.
Check samples with an appropriate sizing tool rather than relying only on labels. Wider bands and different profiles can feel different during wear, so assess the actual design. If a conversion is needed, use a verified size chart and avoid promising that every conversion is exact.
Treat adjustable rings as their own product type
An open band does not remove the need for fit information. Request the supplier's intended adjustment range and instructions. Inspect the opening, edges and decorative elements, and ask whether adjustment is intended to be occasional rather than repeated.
Do not stretch a sample to find a maximum size yourself and then advertise that as a supported range. Give customers only the adjustment guidance confirmed for the selected design. If no reliable range is supplied, state the available measurements and resolve the uncertainty before a larger order.
Keep the first size mix manageable
Separate your budget for testing designs from the budget for stocking sizes. A small set of designs with a clear size range is easier to assess than a large collection with very little depth in each variant. Use customer requests and your own sales history to choose quantities rather than adopting an assumed universal size distribution.
Ask whether minimum quantities apply to the complete order, each design, each finish or each size. These are different requirements and can change the cost of testing a collection. Record the agreed quantities at variant level so the packing list can be checked against the order.
- Confirm the sizing system and available measurements.
- List quantities separately for every size and finish.
- Ask how mixed-size orders affect minimum quantities.
- Check how sizes are labeled on individual packaging.
Inspect samples and prepare the quote request
Inspect the inside of the band, edges, setting and finish on each sample. Where a design includes stones or decorative details, check their placement and ask for relevant care guidance. Confirm the material and surface treatment for the specific ring instead of inferring it from a collection name.
Send product links, sizes, finish selections, quantities, packaging requirements and destination for a quote. Ask about sample availability and how a repeat order will match the approved sample. Once the first batch is selling, review size requests, returns and slow-moving variants together before placing the next order.
